Management Team
Our senior leadership team in the US possesses over 100 years of real estate experience, with all managers having previously worked at large financial institutions such as Bank of America, BlackRock, KeyBank, Lincoln Financial Group and Freddie Mac. Our deep understanding of real estate in general and CMBS in particular from both the principal and lending sides of the business provides an unparalleled platform to offer clients the expert advice required for complex transactions.
Management at our delivery center in Gurgaon, India has been with the company and predecessor firms since 2004 and has built up substantial domain knowledge on US and European real estate and combines this with extensive experience in operating teams on large projects, under tight time constraints, across different time zones.
Management Team – US
Sudhanshu Khandelwal
Founding Principal & Managing PartnerMr. Khandelwal has over 15 years of experience in the Banking and Real Estate Finance industries and was formerly a Program Manager with Bank of America Real Estate Structured Finance in the Capital Markets area. At Bank of America, he was responsible for origination and structuring of fixed and floating rate commercial mortgages for various property types for securitization purposes. He also was the lead structurer for more than 20 fixed and floating rate CMBS securitizations totaling nearly $40 billion in volume and led the CMBS servicing valuation group for these securitizations. He also handled the asset management function for CMBS loan portfolios by looking at risk management and collateral protection functions.
Mr. Khandelwal has also held positions as a technical consultant in Fortune 100 companies like IBM and TRW in various capacities.
Mr. Khandelwal holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and an MS in Computer Science from Wayne State University. Sudhanshu holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Shri G.S. Institute of Technology and Science in Electronics and Telecommunication from India.
Gregg Higson
Head – OperationsMr. Higson currently serves as Managing Director of MCube Financial LLC. In this capacity he is responsible for managing the completion and delivery of the company’s products and services as well as managing client relationships.
Mr. Higson has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance and financial services industries in varying capacities including loan origination and business development, underwriting, credit analysis, portfolio and asset management, documentation and closing. His underwriting and origination experience includes over $13 billion in permanent debt (both CMBS and Agency), acquisition loans and lines of credit, both secured and unsecured corporate lines of credit, and construction financing involving all major property types.
Previously he served as Vice President and Permanent Product Specialist at KeyBank Real Estate Capital where he was responsible for the origination and structuring of CMBS and Agency debt financing for the bank’s institutional commercial real estate clients. Prior to KeyBank, Mr. Higson served as Vice President at both Compass Bank and AmSouth Bank where we was charged with originating, structuring, underwriting, closing and monitoring commercial real estate loans to local and regional commercial real estate developers and investors. Mr. Higson began his career at Bank of America (NationsBank) where he worked in the Real Estate Structured Debt and Real Estate Portfolio Management groups and was responsible for the structuring, underwriting, closing, syndication and monitoring of commercial real estate loans and lines of credit to REITs, private equity funds and large national developers.
Mr. Higson earned his MBA from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. He also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies (with honors) from the University of South Carolina while earning Academic All-American recognition competing as a co-captain on the USC Varsity Men’s Swim Team.
Jeff LaPiana
Head – CMBS, Balance Sheet & Bridge UWMr. LaPiana currently serves as a Managing Director of MCube Financial LLC. In this capacity, he is responsible for directing and managing the CMBS, Balance Sheet and Bridge/Other Underwriting verticals for the company, ensuring the delivery of quality product, timely servicing and managing client relationships and expectations across the related platform.
Mr. LaPiana comes with a strong and diversified real estate finance background, with over 20 years of industry experience on all sides of the closing table. Prior to joining MCube Financial, Mr. LaPiana most recently served as Managing Partner for a national real estate financing and servicing platform, serving a variety of institutional and private equity clients in sourcing, financing and closing various financing products, with significant lending and underwriting experience in the CMBS and Agency verticals. He has previous experience serving as a Controller for Lincoln Property Company and Chief Financial Officer and Partner with The Spectrum Companies, a leading diverse southeastern US developer, owner and manager of commercial and multifamily real estate. In these roles, Mr. LaPiana led the directional efforts in sourcing and closing GP/LP equity and debt financing for all new development and asset acquisitions.
A Certified Public Accountant and Licensed Real Estate Broker, Mr. LaPiana holds a BS degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Siena College, Albany, New York. A Member of the MBA and AICPA, Mr. LaPiana is passionate about serving his community as an ambassador and advocate for the homeless and providing permanent supportive housing to the homeless population and those with disabilities, both physical and mental.
Joel Goodman
Head – Agency UnderwritingMr. Goodman has a high level of experience in all aspects of the commercial real estate financing and acquisition process. He has 25 years of experience in multifamily mortgage underwriting specific to the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae DUS lending programs, including Conventional Loans, Small Loans, LIHTC, Section 8 HAP Contracts, and Tax-Exempt Bonds. Throughout his career he has mentored and trained analysts and junior underwriters in multifamily underwriting concepts and Agency underwriting guidelines. Prior to joining MCube Financial, LLC, Joel was a Vice President of Underwriting at Capital One Multifamily Finance, LLC, where he was the Underwriting Manager for the Freddie Mac SBL program. In addition to overseeing and training a team of underwriters and analysts and having loan approval authority, Mr. Goodman was directly involved in all aspects of the program. He assisted in the development of the underwriting model, loan narrative, and policies and procedures and worked closely with Freddie Mac in the approval of numerous loans and program exceptions. Mr. Goodman also worked at M&T Realty Credit Corporation in originations, structuring loans for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae execution. Mr. Goodman was also a Senior Underwriter at Greystone Servicing Corporation, where he underwrote numerous Fannie Mae loans, including large loans, affordable loans, and complex tax-exempt bond transactions.
Mr. Goodman holds an MBA and BS with a concentration in Finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Sumeet Raisinghani
India Head – OperationsMr. Raisinghani has over 12 years of leadership experience in the commercial real estate industry and has played a pivotal role during the start-up phase and evolution of MCube’s outsourcing delivery model. Sumeet heads up India operations and manages the entire India team delivering all client assignments. His focus has been on increasing competitiveness, improving customer experience, improving employee engagement and increasing the depth of services. Sumeet also worked with MCube predecessor company Helix Financial LLC (acquired by BlackRock in January 2010) for approximately 6 years. During his tenure with Helix, he was responsible for leading pilot CRE Underwriting and Valuation projects. Sumeet managed the underwriting of 50+ loans ($13.6 billion) collateralized by 3,200 properties delivered with complete ASR’s and financial analysis to clients, including all major U.S investment and commercial banks, CMBS and structured finance groups and European financial institutions. Sumeet received a Master’s degree in Finance from the Ashcroft International Business School, Cambridge, UK. Sumeet has been known to foster innovation, leadership, teamwork within the organization.

Anshu Arora
India Head – Agency UnderwritingMs. Arora has over 11 years of experience in commercial real estate finance and services including loan originations, commercial real estate underwriting, Agency underwriting and valuation projects. At MCube, Anshu manages the India team for Agency underwriting. In this capacity, Anshu manages all Agency underwriting assignments and works closely with MCube US underwriting team.
Prior to joining MCube in 2012, Anshu worked with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) for over 2 years as a Client Lead. During her tenure at JLL, she gained extensive exposure in handling various client portfolios, located in several countries. Anshu has excellent knowledge and understanding of real estate databases like Rockport, Closer, Backshop, Solomon ERP and One View Lease Administration. Anshu started her career in 2006 with MCube predecessor company Helix Financial LLC (acquired by BlackRock Solutions in January 2010), where she was involved in commercial real estate underwriting and valuation projects including pre-screening of loans, asset summary report preparation, B-piece underwriting assignments, preparing data tapes for rating agencies and preparing lease abstracts for lenders and law firms.
Sonia Bali
Vice President – Human ResourcesSonia Bali leads the Human Resources function at MCube. In this role, she is responsible for managing the global human resources of MCube across different geographies in India and the USA.
Sonia has over 15 years of experience in managing, coordinating and administering all the human resources functions. Sonia has been with MCube / Beekman Helix India (BHI) for close to a decade and has been providing full HR generalist services to MCube Group.
In her various roles at MCube, Sonia oversees recruitment, employee relations, performance management, talent development, policy formulation and implementation and compensation activities. She has led initiatives geared to the implementation of technical and soft skills, corporate programs for employee engagement and training and development.
Prior to joining MCube / BHI, Sonia worked with Soltius, an Information Technology Company later acquired by AgreeYa Solutions; EAN India, an autonomous non-profit body of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Sonia holds Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with Honors from the University of Delhi. Sonia also holds a Diploma in Business Administration from IMT Ghaziabad, a Diploma in Human Resources from IIM Calcutta, and is a Certified Trainer in Behavioral Skills and Advance Facilitation.
Ritesh Daga
Assistant Vice President – FinanceRitesh Daga leads the Finance and Accounting group at MCube. In this role, he is responsible for managing accounting and financial compliance, long term financial planning and growth strategy, budgeting and cash management of the Company.
Ritesh has more than nine years of work experience in managing finance operations. Prior to joining MCube, Ritesh worked with BlackRock Services India Pvt. Ltd., the largest Asset Management Company in the world, in the capacity of Assistant Manager, Finance. Ritesh also worked as Audit Manager at Lodha & Co., New Delhi, a prominent audit firm.
Ritesh is a qualified Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Rajasthan University. -
